I still remember what it felt like to have doubts about starting my own business, in my case a dress shop. "How am I going to finance this?, how on earth am I going to be able to pay the rent?, what if no customers come?", and so on... But today I want to tell you an inspiring story, a story about discovering opportunities and making dreams come true.
Over the years I have learned that entrepreneurship is more than just running a store; it's about building community and providing unique experiences. Whether this concerns building your customer base, your entry into, for example, a center management, municipality or contact with fellow entrepreneurs.
Consider an exclusive shoe store with pearls of shoes, a patisserie with delicious sweet creations, a millinery store with handmade works of art, or a grand café where people come together to enjoy good food and good company. These companies are not only unique, but they complement each other in ways you might not have expected. Men looking for a nice tailor-made suit, or women looking for dresses, often have the same interest in quality and style. By welcoming new businesses in addition to my store, together we can create a destination where everyone can find what they are looking for and we can all benefit from each other's customers.
So, if you're on the fence about starting your own business, remind yourself that your dream is possible too. You can be part of something big, something that enriches the local community and makes people happy. Something that people from all over the Netherlands and the Euroregion come to Sittard especially for! Don't hesitate any longer. Take up the challenge and start your entrepreneurial adventure.
